Why I didn’t Buy an iPhone

Those who know me at all, probably know that I am an official mac fan boy. That’s right; I drink the kool aid. Big time.

I generally jump all over every thing they roll out. Lately my friends have been stunned that I didn’t burn 8 hours of my day waiting in line for the latest 3G, push email, I’m cooler than you cuz mine’s white- iPhone.

Well, I’ve got some news for you, I’ve decided against joining the lynch mob of apple addicts lining up for the latest release. Here is why:

Steve Jobs hasn’t announced a $100 price drop yet.
I simply don’t feel like waiting in line for 8 hours with other people that are as obsessed as I am.
When the first iPhone came out, it was heads and tails above any other phone. I waited when I had a crap-astic phone, I can wait now.
The 3G network is exciting, but not revolutionary. I primarily use my phone around a Wifi network and I suspect I won’t notice a major difference.
The new apps are cool, but most of them are available for the first generation iPhone.
I am not ready to buy everyone in my family a new iPhone. I have been through an iPhone release once already, this type of thing can really divide a household. Not gonna happen again.
My friends are saying that the most fun of getting the new one was the experience of being the first. No thanks, I’ve got better things to be first to market at. =)

So, with that, I wait…

The exercise in patience is killing me.

What’s more likely, as I finish this post, I will probably drive to the Apple store and get a new phone.

I am terrible.
