Posterous, here I come

mattbrowne.posterous.com

Me: Posterous is yet another micro blogging service to emerge and find a home right in between Twitter and WordPress.

You: What?!? Another stream of information! Are you kidding me?!?

Me: No, really. It’s amazing. You have to try it.

You: No way, no how. Aren’t you still in love with FriendFeed. How the heck is this any different.

Me: For the record, yes— I still love FriendFeed. And secondly, it’s completely different:

Posterous, a Y Combinator company, brought to market a simple way to share media of all formats, on the go, on your desktop, via Facebook— you name it. With one email address, I have to power to update my entire social graph.

Posterous is simple, flexible, and extremely powerful. There is no mystery why many early adopters are predicting that Tumblr has a worthy adversary in Posterous.

It’s one of those business models that’s a shark. All you see is the fin, but there is a powerful animal underneath the water lurking.

With $750,000 in funding, and a lot of traction; they have guaranteed their pick of the litter for their A round (if they haven’t secured it already).

Posterous has acquired Slinkset, their Y Combinator colleagues. They probably wouldn’t give away any portion of their seed round (or take on addition resources) if there wasn’t money on the horizon to support it.

If I were a VC, I would be clamoring at the opportunity to help these guys. There is something to be said for someone who can make waves in a very crowded, and somewhat awkward space. Well done @a4agarwal @GarryTan.

    Matt,
It takes great character and strength to acknowledge your personal “speed bumps” in life and then move on to the next chapter. You have always been a success and a wealth of knowledge for those around you. I am so proud of you.
